Manually Creating Virtual Products
Manually Creating Virtual Products

A virtual composition or virtual product consists solely of components and does not occupy space in the warehouse.

Updated over a month ago

Virtual products are products made up of two or more items that are already in stock. The virtual product itself does not exist as a standalone item and is not physically in stock. For example, this is useful if you offer bundles of multiple items that can also be sold separately. In such cases, you can create a virtual product with its own EAN, composed of two or more other EANs.

With virtual products, you can easily offer new products as sets or bundles. This eliminates the need to repackage them, allowing you to offer these bundles directly.

Note that virtual products can also be imported with a spreasheet, but this guide is meant for adding virtual products manually.

Adding a Virtual Product

  1. Click on Products in the navigation menu on the left.

  2. Click on + New Product.

  3. Select Type: virtual_composition.

  4. Enter the Title and optionally add an Image.

  5. Fill in the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit). This is the SKU or EAN used in your webshop, typically matching the code on the product packaging.

  6. If the barcode on the product packaging differs from the SKU/EAN, you can enter the barcode in the Barcode field.

  7. Optionally, add an Internal Description and Webshop Description.

  8. If the product belongs to a Fulfillment Client, select the client in the appropriate field.

  9. Click on + Add Component to select which products and quantities the composition includes.

  10. If applicable, fill in the Price and Cost of the product.

  11. Save the bundle by clicking Save at the top of the page.

Your virtual product is now ready to use and can be offered as a bundled set in your webshop.
