How to create an ASN

Register an inbound supplier shipment in Lyra WMS so the warehouse knows what is coming.

Create an ASN (advance shipping notice) when a supplier is sending goods to the warehouse. The ASN tells the warehouse what is coming, for which client, and when.

Steps

  1. In the menu, click Inbound, then ASNs. Click Create ASN at the top right.

  2. The Create advance shipping notice page opens. It has four parts: General, Delivery, Items and Documents.

  3. Click Fulfilment client and choose the client the goods are for.

  4. Optional: in External reference, type the supplier's order number, for example the PO number.

  5. Click Supplier and choose the supplier. Is the supplier not in the list? Click Create new supplier.

  6. Check Notify supplier. It is ticked by default. Lyra then emails the supplier a confirmation with the ASN reference and the expected delivery window. Untick it if the supplier should not get an email.

  7. Under Shipment type, click how the goods arrive: Box, Pallet, Roll container or Container. Box is selected by default.

  8. Click Warehouse and choose the warehouse that receives the goods.

  9. In Expected delivery date, enter the date the goods should arrive.

  10. Optional: choose a Courier and type the Tracking number.

  11. In the first line under Items, click Search products. Type the product name or SKU and click the product.

  12. In QTY, type the number of units. Under Shipments, enter how many and choose the unit: Each, Inner box or Box.

  13. To add another product, click Add product. A new empty line appears. Repeat steps 11 and 12.

  14. Check the totals on the left: Lines shows the number of products and Total units the total quantity. For a long list, use Bulk add instead: paste SKUs and quantities.

  15. Optional: under Documents, click Attach document to add a packing list, invoice or other supplier paperwork.

  16. Scroll to the top and click Save ASN.
